Chocolate Chip Brownie Recipe

If you’re looking for a great chocolate chip brownie recipe, this one is sure to impress. The brownies you end up with are chewy and full of rich, chocolate flavour, just like a brownie should be. You do get other recipes that are more like cake, but you won’t find that with this chocolate brownie recipe. To start off with, you’ll need to keep the whole set of ingredients ready so you don’t have to run around looking for things at the last minute once you get started. This recipe produces approximately 15 brownies, depending on how you slice them. It will only take about 45 minutes to prepare and bake them.

The ingredients for this chocolate chip brownie recipe include a 12-ounce packet of semisweet chocolate chips, a cup of butter, a cup of toasted and chopped walnuts, 4 eggs, a cup and a half of sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, a cup and a quarter of all-purpose flour, and half a teaspoon of salt. You can substitute 2 sticks of margarine for butter if you want to reduce the fat content. The walnuts are optional, so if you are allergic to nuts and want to leave them out, these brownies taste just as good without the nuts.

When you’re ready to start making the chocolate chip brownie recipe, you can start by melting three-quarters of the chocolate chips and butter in a double boiler. This essentially means putting the chips and butter in a pan that sits on top of a saucepan filled with water over low heat. Stir it occasionally to make sure the butter and chocolate mix well together and keep the mixture from scorching, which would destroy the flavor. When it’s ready, the chocolate will have a glorious shine from the butter. Allow this mixture to cool until it reaches room temperature. In the meantime, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you plan on using the walnuts in this chocolate chip brownie recipe, toast them on a pan in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. When they’re done, allow them to cool and then chop them up. In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Sift the flour, and add it slowly to the egg mixture, stirring it in well until it is properly blended. Add the chocolate mixture and blend it in. Fold in the chopped walnuts and the remaining chocolate chips. You can try tossing them in flour before you add them to make sure they don’t sink to the bottom of the pan as they cook and settle.

At this point, you’re just about ready to start baking this chocolate chip brownie recipe. Grease a 9 x 11 inch pan, and spread the batter evenly inside it. Bake it at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes. At the end of that time, remove them from the oven, and allow them to cool in the pan. Placing the pan on a wire rack can ensure that the brownies don’t overcook with the internal heat. Cut them up according to the size you prefer, and voila, your chocolate chip brownie recipe is done. These are outstanding. They make about 2 dozen, so I froze half. They semeed to freeze really well! My PLAN is to be able to thaw them one at a time to ration them out, but we’ll see how that actually plays out. ;)
